![]() ![]() This time in nature gives our brains a chance to “actively” recover and our bodies an opportunity to conduct needed physical restoration. The research circles back to the idea that humans need to spend more time in nature and away from modern society. It’s an interesting read! She talked to scientists from around the globe about their studies on how nature affects our physical body, with much of that research looking at our brains. Williams has been writing about outdoor topics for years and took a deep dive into the science behind why nature restores us. Then I found The Nature Fix by Florence Williams. But as much time as I spend in the woods I’ve never thought about why it’s so refreshing. I love my makeup-free, no-cellphone signal escapes to the woods! As cliche as it might sound, that time away is so refreshing. ![]() After reading the book, I took tried two new ways to bring more nature into the office, and wrote a short blog post about about it.
